Ray
Evans
Athletic Coordinator and Head
Football Coach
Coach Evans is a
Houston native. He attended
Jesse H. Jones High
School in HISD, graduating
with honors. He attended
Texas A&M, Kingsville
where he secured
a Bachelor of Science
in 1977 with a major
in Health and Physical
Education.
After graduation,
Coach Evans worked
as an assistant football
coach and teacher
at Corpus Christi
Moody and Corpus
Christi West Oso
High Schools before
moving to the Houston
area and beginning
his career in HISD
in 1982. While in
that district, he
was an assistant
coach at Bellaire
and Lamar High Schools,
and in 1994 he was
named head football
coach at Robert E.
Lee High School.
In 2000, the football
program was discontinued
at Lee, so Coach
Evans moved to Westbury
High School as defensive
coordinator. A year
later in 2001, he
was hired as the
head football coach
at Jack Yates High
School. He remained
at Yates until 2005
when he left to take
the position of defensive
coordinator at Eisenhower.
Coach Evans became
the athletic coordinator
and head football
coach at Eisenhower
in January, 2008.
This is his first
year as the leader
of the Mighty Eagles.
Coach Evans was named
the "Teacher of the
Year" at both Bellaire
and Lamar High Schools.
He was Director of
the Greater Houston
Football Coaches
Association from
2002 to 2003, and
was named "Coach
of the Year" by the
NFL's Houston Texans
in 2004.
Kenneth
Guiton, Sr.
Assistant Football
Coach – Outside Receivers
Coach Guiton is
a product of Houston,
Texas, graduating from M.B.
Smiley in 1980. He attended
Lamar University on a Track
and Field scholarship and
graduated in 1985 with a
BS in Physical Education
and Health.
Coach Guiton joined
the Eisenhower
coaching staff
in 1992 as a freshmen coach.
In addition to coaching
football, Coach Guiton has
coached both boys and girls
track. He became the head
girls’ track coach in 1994,
where he led the team to
the State Track meet in
2002 and 2003. He was also
a member of the boy’s
track coaching
staff that won the State
Track meet in 2006. Currently
Coach Guiton remains apart
of the girls track team
in the capacity of assistant
girl's track coach.
Coach Guiton is
married to Veronica
Guiton; he has two children:
LaKiesha (27) and Kenny
(17), and two grandchildren:
Dominique and Aliyah.
Daniel
Blanson
Assistant Football
Coach - Wide Receivers
Coach
Blanson is a graduate
of Nimitz High
School and Prairie
View A&M
University where
he received a
degree in Management
Information Systems.
In addition to
coaching for 3
years, he teaches
Business Education
and Keyboarding,
at Eisenhower. In
his role as
wide receiver coach,
Blanson helped
coordinate the
summer 7-on-7
program and
assists with the
Eagle passing game.
Dan Hawkins
Assistant
Football Coach - Defensive

Coach - Sophomores
Coach Hawkins, a native
of Lansing Michigan,
is a graduate of
Minot State University
where he played in
the offensive backfield
and on the offensive
line.
After
starting his coaching
career as a Varsity
Assistant at Minot
High School in Football
and Track for two
years, his career
took a different turn
when he served four
years in the United
States Navy during
the Persian Gulf
War and the Desert
Storm Conflict. While
in the Navy he earned
the Navy Achievement
Medal, the National
Defense Medal and
of course the Good
Conduct Medal.
In 1994 Coach Hawkins
returned to coaching,
landing his first
Texas job at Galena
Park High School.
There he eventually
became a Varsity
Football Assistant
and the Head Boys
Track Coach under
College Coaching
Icon Jimmy Dickey
Sr. Coach Hawkins
accepted a position
in 1999 at Crosby
High School as the
Head Freshman Coach/
Jr High Coordinator
and eventually the
Varsity Defensive
Line Coach . While
at Crosby success came
in the form of several
district championships
and playoff births
as well as one bi-district
championship in 2003.
In 2004 Hawkins came
to Eisenhower in
the capacity of
Director of Football
Operations. He has been
the Defensive Line Coach,
Assistant Linebackers
Coach and always the
go to guy for football
media. In 2008
Coach Hawkins will again
return to the Defensive
Line serving as
the Defensive Tackles
Coach.
Coach Hawkins is married
to his wife Diane,
also an educator,
and they have three
children, Andrea,
Nicholas and Gregory.
Gregory and his wife
Dawn have recently
added the newest
addition to the Hawkins
clan, their daughter
Zoe, who will be
a year old in November.
Ricky "Doc" Nelson and
Marshalle Bradley
Athletic Trainers
”Doc” Nelson
received his
Bachelors of
Science degree
in 1984 and shortly
afterwards received
his Master’s
of Administration
from Nicholls State
University, located
in Thibodaux,
Louisiana. Doc
is licensed by
the state of
Texas (L.A.T)
and is a nationally
certified athletic
trainer (A.T.C.).
He
spent five years
at Thomas
Jefferson High School in Port
Arthur, Texas where he taught
Health and held the position
of Athletic Trainer. In addition,
Doc worked with the NFL’s
Buffalo Bills from 1985 to 1999,
working at their training camp
and in some preseason games.
He was fortunate enough to attend
Super Bowl XXVII with the Bills,
although they were beat by the
Dallas Cowboys.
In 1992, Doc was the
assistant trainer for the London
Monarchs of the World League
of American Football. During
this same year, AISD hired Doc
as the athletic trainer at Eisenhower,
where he has resided for the
last 17 years.
Hubert K. Sthran
Assistant
Football Coach - Freshman
Coach
Sthran has been
coaching in some
aspect for 24
years. His career
began in Crosby
ISD. From 1984
through 1994
he coached all
of the middle
school sports.
He then relocated
to the Dallas area
and taught in
the Duncanville
ISD at Reed Middle
School where
he helped to
establish a solid
middle school
football program
along with a
very successful
basketball program
from 1994 through
1997.
Ferris
ISD was his next
stop for only
a year but it
was his first
opportunity to
coach varsity
football, junior
varsity basketball,
and varsity tennis.
From 1998 through
2008 Coach Sthran
worked in the
Desoto ISD and
had the chance
to help build
a dynamic basketball
program and a
solid tennis
program. Now
he is part of
Aldine ISD and
the Eisenhower
Eagles. He is
elated and honored
to be a part
of a great staff
at Eisenhower
High School.
Searcy
A. Thomas
Assistant
Football Coach - Offensive
Coordinator
After
graduating from Prairie
View A&M University, Coach
Thomas began a coaching career
that has lasted for 29 years. He
began as a secondary coach at Lamar
High School in the Houston Independent
School District. From
Lamar, Coach Thomas headed for
Robert
E. Lee High School in 1994 where
he became
the Defensive Coordinator.
In
2000 Coach Thomas accepted the
job of Offensive Coordinator
at Westbury High School. Coach
Evans hired Coach Thomas as his
offensive coordinator at Jack Yates
High School in 2002, and he stayed
at Yates until 2004. Most
recently Coach Thomas served as
the Offensive Coordinator at Bellaire
High School before coming to Eisenhower.
Coach Thomas is married
to his wife
Sheila and
has 2 sons,
Ike and Durand.

is entereing
his fourth
year at Eisenhower
High School
and his fourteenth
season as
a coach/educator.
He is a native
Houstonian
and played
football
and graduated
from James
Madison High
School in
HISD. He
went on to
graduate
from Texas
Southern
University
where he
received
a Bachelors
of Science
in Education.
Coach Thompson
has been
married to
his wife
and high
school sweetheart,
Andre, for
11 years.
He and his
wife have
two lovely
children,
Je'lyn (7)
and Sean
(2.)

Coach Wesley
was raised
in Rockdale,
Texas, after
graduating
from Rockdale
High School
in 1989,
he attended
Texas A&M
University
and graduated
from there
in 1994.
He is currently
in the graduate
school program
at PVAMU.
Coach Wesley
joined the
Eisenhower
coaching
staff in
1998.
Married to
Jennifer
Wesley, he
has 4 children:
Braeden 10,
Haley 7,
Grace 4 and
Avery 15
months.
Coach
Wesley says,
I
love spending
time with
my family, coaching
football
and fishing.
I have made
Ike my home
and enjoy working
with the
students and
